Delegate Evaluation

Delegates are graded on a scale of 0-100. Below is the rubric used by the chairs to evaluate delegate performance:

• Speeches
• Comments
• Questions
• Caucuses: Unmoderated, Moderated, Formal
• Resolutions
• Amendments
• Position Paper
• Diplomacy

Criteria

The grading program used by the chairs will average the scores over all speeches, comments, questions, and individual caucus categories. This will produce an average overall score for each category. The overall scores for each category will then be summed to give a final score out of 100.

Speeches
Content (1-10)
Presentation (1-5)
Total possible points per speech: 15

Comments
Relevance to Speech (0-1)
Content (1-5)
Presentation (1-4)
Total possible points per comment: 10

Questions
Relevance to Speech (0-1)
Content (1-4)
Total possible points per question: 5

Unmoderated Caucus
Involvement (1-5)
Total possible points per unmoderated caucus: 5

Moderated Caucus
Relevance to topic (0-1)
Content (1-3)
Presentation (0-1)
Total possible points per moderated caucus: 5

Formal Caucus
Member of formal caucus presentation (1-3)
Relevance to topic (1-2)
Participation (1-5)
Total possible points per formal caucus: 10

Resolutions
Content (1-7)
Style (1-3)
Leadership in creating resolution (1-5)
Total possible points per resolution: 15

Amendments
Content (1-3)
Style and structure (1-2)
Total possible points per amendment: 5

Position Paper
Overall quality (1-10)
Total possible points per position paper: 10

Diplomacy
Overall (1-20)
Total possible points for diplomacy: 20
Note: These are points given at the chair’s discretion upon evaluation of the delegate’s overall effort and participation in committee. This category includes, but is not limited to, teamwork, sportsmanship, knowledge of the topic, and other holistic factors.
